What does No Power mean?
iPhone shows no signs of life - no charging indicator, no Apple logo, no vibration.
Common causes
- Fully discharged battery (trickle charge needed)
- Failed PMIC (power management IC)
- Battery connector disconnected or damaged
- Charging port failure
- Logic board damage
Diagnostic & testing steps
- 1. Connect to power supply and set to 5V/0.3A - check for draw
- 2. Good battery: pulls 0.5-1A during charge
- 3. Dead/swollen battery: pulls 0mA or <0.1A
- 4. Short circuit: pulls maximum current immediately and gets hot
- 5. Inspect battery connector pins for corrosion or damage
- 6. Test USB port with known-good cable and charger
- 7. If DCPS shows abnormal draw, board-level diagnosis needed
Tools required
- DCPS (DC Power Supply)
- Multimeter
- Pentalobe/Tri-wing screwdrivers
- Spudger
